AN IMPROVED DEVICE FOR REGRINDING OF BEARING RINGS

A device for grinding the bearing ring 2 of a rotary drum 3 used in the cement industry coprises a grinder 5 carried by a holder 6 pivotable about an axis 8 parallel to the axis of the drum, the grinder being supported against the ring by two support elements 9, 10. The drum is rotatably supported on rollers 4, the noses of which are parallel to the axis 8 about which a pillar 11 of adjustable height is movable and supports the framework 12 of the holder 6. A pair of brackets 13 are pivotally mounted on the framework and at their outer ends have adjustably mounted arms 14a, 14b carrying the elements 9, 10 in the form of rollers which bear against the ring 2. The grinder 5 is belt-driven from a motor 18 and carried by a slide 19 reciprocatable parallel to the axis of the drum by a threaded spindle 15 driven from a motor 16. Automatic feed of the grinder towards the axis of the drum may be provided. The device is supported by its own weight against the drum, the arms 14a, 14b being adjusted to the curvature of the drum.
