Copolymers contg. (A) 60 - 94.6% wt. vinylidene chloride, (B) 5 - 39% wt. monomers giving water-insol. homopolymers (e.g. vinyl esters, acrylates), (C) 0.2 - 10% wt. alpha, beta-unsatd. mono- or di-carboxylic acids and (D) 0.2 - 5% of N-methylolamides, N-alkoxymethylamides or N-carbalkoxymethylamides of these acids, are used for coating paper. Use is partic. for parchment paper. Adhesion is good in both wet and dry conditions.
