1324183 Winding webs LILLA EDETS PAPPERSBRUKS AB 31 July 1970 [15 Aug 1969] 37142/70 Heading B8R A winding apparatus comprises a turret carrying a plurality of spindles 5 indexable into core-loading, glue-applying, winding and discharge stations (Figs. 1 and 4, not shown); and an arrangement for transferring a new core 3 from a supply (1) to a support surface (9) at the core-loading station (Figs. 1 and 2, not shown) and for feeding the core 3 to a device which applies the core to an associated winding spindle 5. The feeding arrangement comprises a plate (21) Fig. 3 (not shown) which is moved to push a core 3 along the surface (9) into the nip between feed rollers 30, 31 which urge the core 3 on to the spindle 5, the rollers being provided with flanges 44 which guide the core 3. The feed rollers 30, 31 may be associated with feed belts 34 passing over respective rollers 32, 33, the feed nips being adjustable for cores of different sizes. When the core 3 is fully on the spindle 5, an electrical circuit is actuated to index the turret.
