Reacting (A) 45-99% of a polyamide-polyimide formed by reacting (1) 45-55 mole % of at least one aromatic acid, ester or anhydride with at least three carbonyl groups per molecule which are -COOH, -COOR' (where R' is monovalent hydrocarbon) or anhydride groups, at least two carbonyl groups being in the ortho-position, with (2) 45-55 mole % of aliphatic, aromatic or aliphatic-aromatic diamines each with at least one primary amino group, and (B) 1-55% of a specified organosilyl cpd. that is free from Si-halogen bonds.
