A method and device for the production of plates and the form of bodies of gypsum

Process for mfg. plaster panels, where the surface of a conveyor belt is fed with plaster, fibres or other fillers, or a mixt. of these materials, in one or more superimposed layers, plus water for setting. When the plaster is spread out its temp. is 1-140 degrees C and the layer(s) are dry, i.e. only the residual water of crystallisation in the plaster is present; the layer(s) are shaped and/or compressed, and water is then added across the entire width for setting; and a pressure difference is established between the surfaces of the panel to ensure the distribution of the water and to remove the excess. The plaster is pref. at 10-100 degrees C and the panel 5-100mm thick; the pref. appts. is included in twenty claims. Avoids the use of large amts. of energy involved in removing excess water, or the use of refrigeration so the water can be added as ice, i.e. this process is very economic.
