The pharmaceutical composition with hypolipidemic and hypocholesterolemic effectiveness

Medicament contng. the p-chlorophenoxyisobutyric acid (I) salt of pyridoxine, pyridoxal or pyridoxamine. The salts have hypolipidaemic, hypocholesterolaemic and vit. B6 props. In rats, (II) at a dose of 200 mg/kg/day for 10 days reduced cholesterolaemia by 30% and lipidaemia by 70%. As tablets, capsules, granules, solns., suspns., suppositories, etc. esp. tablets contng. 400 mg. of pyridoxine p-chlorophenoxyisobutyrate (II) for use at the rate of 6-8/day. A soln. of (I) (5.365 g.) in MeOH (60 ml) is treated with pyridoxine base (4.229 g.); the filtd. soln. is evapd. in a rotary evaporator at 45 deg. and the product dried in vacuo at 40 deg.; m.p.129 deg.
