1303490 Monoalkyl; monocycloalkyl and monoaralkyl hydrazines BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 12 June 1970 [13 June 1969] 28542/70 Heading C2C A process for the production of a monoalkyl. monocycloalkyl or monoaralkyl hydrazine comprises reducing the corresponding N-alkyl, N- cycloalkyl or N-aralkyl-N-nitrosohydroxylamine by reaction with sodium amalgam in an acid medium at a pH of from 2À0 to 6À8 in the presence of an organic solvent and/or suspension agent. The reaction is preferably carried out at a temperature of from -20‹ to + 50‹ C. using a sodium amalgam having a sodium content of from 0À05 to 5% by weight and an alcohol or aliphatic carboxylic acid as the solvent. The hydrazines may be converted to 1-alkyl, cycloalkyl or aralkyl-4,5-dichloropyridazone-(6) derivatives by reaction with mucochloric acid.
