The converter, for converting a sinewave (ac) into a rectangular wave with a mark/space ratio of 1:1 consists of an input transformer whose secondary is coupled at its ends to the bases of two emitter-coupled transistors and at its tapping to their emitters (and to a dc bias). - The transistor collectors are coupled to the ends of the primary of the output transformer whose tapping is connected to the dc bias. To give a mark/space ratio of 1:1 two diodes (51, 52) are connected into the transistor base lines and are poled in opposition to the base/emitter junctions. The bases are also earthed over two resistors (11, 12).
