A high polymers sample suspended by two clamps in a furnace with a variable temp. is subjected to flexural oscillations. - A differential transformer measures the phase difference of the wave due to the oscillations at two points. - One clamp is automatically displaced axially by a servomotor to compensate for temp. induced longitudinal variations. - The dynamic modulus of the sample is continuously recorded graphically.
