The room heating system utilises stored heat generated by excess energy. The room is heated in a flexible manner without delays and it uses relatively low cost plant and operation methods. The heat generated is stored partly at the location of generation and partly at the location of use. The heat transport from one storage location to another is controlled in relation to the heat demand or according to the time rate of variation of excess energy. The heating system heats ceilings, wall, floors or it forms a combined heating system. Heat is stored by a storage furnace and by the ceilings, walls or floor parts designed as heat storage arrangements. These two arrangements are connected with a pipe system.
