Water cooled support tube for walking beam or rail inside heat treatment furnace, in which there are thimble like anchoring pieces welded into the wall of the tube, or cylindrical anchoring pieces welded on its circumference, either of which locate saddles for the support of wear pieces placed onto the saddles and bolted into or onto the welded on location pieces. - This method ensures that there are minimal thermal gradients thus preventing cracking of the structural support elements on one hand and permitting quick changeover of the wear pieces on the other.
