Improvements in postoperative surgical drainage devices

An attachment for a post surgical drainage device comprises a circular laminar first part 11, with adhesive 17 on one of its sides and a square flexible laminar second part 12, both parts having apertures, and the parts being secured together around the periphery of the apertures to form a mutual aperture 14, with the adhesive on the first part facing away from the second part. The two parts which may be in the form of polyvinyl chloride sheet material, are joined at the periphery 13 of the mutual aperture 14 by heat sealing or high frequency welding. A drainage bag 19 of polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride may be secured to the second part of the attachment by means of adhesive on the second part or by means of a square layer of adhesive 23, around the discharge opening of the bag, the layer being of slightly smaller dimensions than the second part of the attachment. The first part 11 may alternatively be of metal or of rigid plastics material.
