Fibrillated polymer product by leading - one component

A soluble thermoplastic resin (I) is mixed with a thermoplastic polymer (II) at temp. 15 degrees C below and 90 degrees C above its melting point. (I) is then extracted from the mixed material (extruded sheet) using a solvent. (I) is polystyrene, polyvinyl acetate etc. (II) is polyethylene, isotactic polypropylene etc. The product resembles leather and contains fibrous linked structures containing pores. Quality is superior to foamed materials.
