摘要
1,246,175. Circuit breakers. A. REYROLLE & CO. Ltd. 13 May, 1970 [14 Feb., 1969], No. 8166/69. Heading H1N. A high voltage circuit breaker, especially a puffer type gas blast breaker using sulphurhexafluoride, has a contact with resilient fingers, and an annular arcing portion segmented by a series of circumferential oblique slits so as to cause any arc produced to spin. A movable contact engages a fixed contact 10, and is secured to a puffer piston 12 carrying an insulating nozzle 14 and slidable in a cylinder 15. The system is filled with SF 6 gas which passes through apertures 17 to extinguish the arc drawn between the contacts. The movable contact comprises a cylindrical sleeve 11 with a series of oblique slits 19 forming a ring of resilient contact fingers 18 and having lips 21 on which the arc roots. In Fig. 3 (not shown) the obliquely cut arcing portion surrounds an axially cut separate movable contact. The contact may also be employed in vacuum-type circuit breakers.
