A tone bar comprises a rigid bar with means for attaching it to members for supporting it at nodal areas between its ends, the means for attaching it to each member comprising a clip attached to a face of the tone bar, and each clip including means for engaging the member. The clips may be attached to the bar by welding, if the bar is metal, or by employing an adhesive. The clips may have hook-like ends which may engage cords as the supporting means, or they may both have a projection, the projections being directed towards one another, which may engage two elastomeric supporting members.
