摘要
A cross-linking agent, buffed with a metal ion, for a macromolecular polysaccharide consists of a chelate cpd. formed from (1) an organic poly-electrolyte ligand and (2) a metal ion from the 1st gp. of the transition metals. The polysaccharide is partic. obtained by the action of bacteria of the genus Xanthomonas on a carbohydrate. The process provides boring fluids of controlled thickening, which are used in underground borings, esp. for oil or gas. The cost of boring is reduced. The addition of bentonite is not necessary. By using lignin-based polyelectrolytes, the sensitivity of the cross-linking to alkaline substances, e.g. cement, is impproved. Other uses for the solns. of the cross-linked polysaccharides are as textile printing pastes, in latex dispersions, in coating materials, as protective colloids for pre-emulsion, and as textile dressings and finishings.
