Replaceable mouth impulse burner prolonging burner life - and improving refractory

Impulse burner for the partial heating of shaft furnace consists of a pipe, into which are pushed telescopically several pipes, which depending on the burning away of the mouth of the burner can be pushed forward replacing it. - Provision is made for the adjustment of the air flow into the burner in accordance with the requirements arising from the effective change in burner diameter one of these being, that the temperature of the mouth region of the burner must only be slightly higher than the temp of evaporation of the fuel. - The introduction of the inserts results in prolongation of the service life of the burner, whilst the possibility of adjusting the airflow helps to keep down the refractory wear near the mouth region of the burner nozzle.
