The system is made up of groups of sensors and functional circuits together with counters and display units. - The individual functions can be varied by adjustable controls representing the sensitivities of the reactions to the various physical/chemical conditions which can be controlled. - A system of successive approximations is used, signals from the sensors providing control stimuli for switching in and out of counters and display instruments, the pulses being used for process control/regulation.
