Comb needles - held by soldered strip and pressure plate through stepped profile on comb plate

The needles in the upper comb of a comber are held by a soldered strip, which is in turn supported by a pressure plate which lies between the stepped profile of the comb plate and the supporting strip. The pressure is intensified by a step on the pressure plate to bear on the supporting strip. The purpose is to give a simplified mounting to allow easy removal and replacement without loss of machine time.
