Catalyst compsn.. obtd. by dispersing powdered catalyst, has catalyst contg. is not 5 wt.% hydrated oxide(s) (of formula MeOOH, in which Me is Fe, or Mn) or MnO2 and dispersed in an organic soln. contg. alkoxy-titanate, alkoxy-substd. organosilane and/or dimethylpolysiloxane. - This compsn. is used for purifying exhaust gases contg. CO, e.g. from petrol engines, Purificn. process is simplified and the catalyst can be applied effectively to any type and form of carrier simply and economically inside the exhaust system. Catalyst is not consumed or broken down during use.
