Again, Fig. 3 (not shown), the motor 16 drives the winch 10 directly through gears (27), (29) and a one-way clutch (31) for one direction of rotation, and through the converter and an oppositely directed one-way clutch (32) for the opposite direction. The converter still provides a braking torque to prevent overspeeding of the motor, even in the one direction of rotation. The motor 16 may be of constant displacement, and a discharge rate valve disposed upstream thereof.
