Textile material of anionic modified polyamides or their mixtures with wool, polyesters or cellulose is dyed or printed with a cationic dye of formula:- where R1 R2 and R3 are (substd) lower alkyl groups, Y is halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, nitro, cyano, acyl, carboxylic ester, (substd) carboxylic amide, alkylsulphonamide, arylsulphonamide or (substituted) sulphonic acid amide group, Z is hydrogen or a nonionic substituent, K is the residue of a coupling component, e.g. the residue of a secondary or tertiary aromatic amine and X is an anion. The dye has good light and moisture stability.
