Xenologous nucleic acids as immunosupressors - for extending the survival time of transplantates

Xenologous nucleic acids (i.e. those obtained from animal species other than that of the receiver) are used to treat a transplantate after removal from the donor and before implantation, thus increasing the survival time of the transplantate. The nucleic acid is pref. obtained from mammal foetuses by phenol extraction and is used in the form of a soln. in a physiologically compatible vehicle, pref. saline, pref. with a substance to increase penetration into the tissue, esp. protamine or diethylaminoethanol.
