The honing bar for electro-chemical honing has a tubular casing where this casing consists at least partly of a material of high conductivity such as copper. In the front, tool-side end of the honing bar, there is a slim contact inner cone (9 or 9a). The contact cone and the thread are complementary to corresponding parts of the honing tool. - The contact inner cone (9 or 9a) and the female thread (10 or 10a) are in a separately produced connecting piece (23). It is connected with the casing (16,17) of the honing bar by engaging, profiled components (24). These components can be an internal thread on the connecting piece and a threaded pin at the front end of the casing (16).
