Asphalt surfaces - treated by direct sedimentation with bituminous slurries emulsified with clay-contg slurries

Bituminous slurries for surface treatment of asphalt surfaces, e.g. parking places and airfields by direct sedimentation are prepd. by using bituminous binders which are emulsified by known methods with aq. 0.1 - 2 wt. % cation active cpds., dissolved or mixed with 0.2 - 5 wt.% (both concns. w.r.t. emulsion) water-insoluble solvent. Cation active cpd. esp. used has formula NR1R2R3 (where R1 is a long-chain hydrocarbyl opt. interrupted by heteroatoms such as N or O, and R2 and R3 are short-chained hydrocarbyl gps.). Solvent may be an opt. chlorinated aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon.
