Polymers of formula: (where m = 3-18, n = 1 or 2, R1 = ethylenically unsatd. grp. derived from fumaric, maleic, citraconic, mesaconic or itaconic acids), are made by bulk-, solution or emulsion polymer. of (I) using free radical catalysts, opt. with other unsatd. monomers. The products are useful as oil- and water repellant treatments on textiles, paper, leather, wood, etc.
