The transit containers (batts) are conveyed, loaded at will, and called forward to the kiln on an individual basis. The loading/storage operations also takes place separately e.g. in a separate area of the factory floor. By suitable marking of the batts and the use of reading units, an automatic control system can be incorporated. Improved utilisation factor of kiln, esp. cost saving by use of cheap rate electric power at night, and better working conditions for staff.
