Split test mould for projective testing - with seals having same thermal properties as mould

Longitudinally split demountable casting mould made from a bullet case provides for the fitting of a soft wire seal on assembly which has the same heat conductivity as the mould material. In the prefd. design the seal consists of lead wire of the same composition as the actual mould. The mould serves for the inspection of the solidification behaviour of the propellant which is cast into the case. Use of the Pb wire ensures identical conditions in the mould to those in a solid bullet case.
