Appliance for the turning over of blocks or billets in industrial heat treatment furnaces comprises a pair of bars reaching into the furnace acting as tongs which are attached at the outside to a vertically displacable carriage and can be rotated round their axis of symmetry. Prefd. rotational device consists of a revolvable shaft to which a slotted cross head is attached for the bars, the ends of which are located in the slots and can be displaced in them.
