Continuous thermocouple metal extrusion temp measurement

Thermocouple device for the continuous measurement of the temp. at the mouth of a metal extrusion die during the extrusion process comprises a couple introduced into a bore in the wall of the extrusion die near its outer edge where deformation is applied. The thermocouple is connected with a pyrometer indicator and/or a controller for controlling the speed of the process. The device comrpises an adaptor which is screwed into the bore provided in the die and in the axial bore of which is fitted a setting screw, to which is attached the thermocouple permitting the accurate placing of its point so that it is positioned in the plane of the die along which the workpiece material slides, making contact with the material.
