A light-sensitive material comprises a biaxially stretched and thermo-set polyester support coated with a p-benzoquinonediazide and/or a p-benzoquinone-iminodiazide, an acid and alkali fast dye and a colourless alkali-soluble polymer. Specified polymers are epoxy resins, phenolaldehyde condensates, styrene/maleic acid copolymers, polyvinyl acetal and vinyl acetate polymer or copolymers. Colour proofing foils are produced by exposing the material to a colour separation negative and developing in alkali. If four materials containing yellow, red, blue and black dyes respectively are exposed to the four corresponding colour separation negatives, the resultant foils may be registered to produce a multi-colour proof of the original. Registration may be aided by producing registration marks on the foils.
