A leg guard for a tractor having a driving cab with frontal step-in comprises a rigid metal plate 10 carried by a cantilever arm 12 pivotally connected to a fastening device 13 for mounting on the rear wing 2 of the tractor, the axis of pivoting of the arm 12 being so inclined that the edge of the plate 10 nearest the rear wheel 3 moves through a conical generating surface which clears but extends around the front of the wheel 3, the apex of the cone being located over the wing 2. A fastening plate 14 carries a pivot bolt 15 on which a sleeve 16 at the end of the arm 12 is secured by a nut 17. Washers 20 on the bolt 15 accommodate dimensional tolerances, and tubular sections 21 are fitted above and/or below the sleeve 16 to suit different tractors. Friction washers 23 and plate springs 24 produce a self-locking effect. A frame 11 on the arm 12 supports the plate 10. Rubber lips 18 are provided on the plate 10 for abutting the bonnet 5, wing 2 and running board of the tractor. A horizontally-projecting lip on the upper edge of the plate co-operates with a lip on the lower edge of a windscreen frame 19.
