Carbon fibres are laid in the mould and carbon fibre flock 10 may be added for filling out and local strengthening, the fibre comprising 15-75% of the total faller weight. A matrix resin, e.g. an epoxy, polyester or phenolic resin is added and a heated tool 8 moved into recess 7 under pressure to cure the resin. Fillers such as slate, glass, glass fibres, graphite or molybdenum disulphide may be incorporated locally.
