Process for detecting faults in a partic. electron beam, weld which assembles two thin walled elements, is by passing a permanent heat flux through the weld head and perpendicular to the direction in which it extends, collecting and analysing the temps measured at 3 reference points of which 2 are situated on one side of the weld bead and 1 is on the opposite side, the relative variations of the ratio of the temp. differences taken between the central point and each lateral point being a direct function of the ratio measuring the extent of non-penetration of the weld bead.
