A process for producing capsules having gelled polymeric material walls and nuclei of water-immiscible material includes the steps of establishing a condition of coacervation in an aqueous system containing two or more hydrophilic film-forming polymeric materials, lowering the temperature of the system with agitation, introducing nucleous particles, keeping the system at this temperature until the desired wall thickness is obtained, and dropping the temperature, still with agitation, to a point where the deposited walls gel regardless of the agitation. Five examples of the process are described. Specifications 751,600 and 872,713 are referred to.
