A horizontal tank has a feed hopper with worm feeder at one end and a discharge chute at the other end. Within it a number of axially parallel rotating brushes form a vertical trough, gaps between the bristles allowing the peelings to fall into a sump with an extractor pump. The bushes are in the lower half of the tank and within the space brushed by them is a parallel shaft, common to the feeder worm, carrying disc shaped brakes with sector shaped edge cutouts, offset mutually, dividing the cleaning space into equal compartments.
