[Also in Division C3] A grinding member is prepared by (a) forming a composition comprising at least one polymerization catalyst, at least one unsaturated polyester resin and at least one liquid polymerizable ethylene derivative, (b) intimately mixing the composition formed with an abrasive material in particulate form and at least one solid unsaturated polyester resin, and (c) shaping the resultant composition into the grinding member and allowing the composition to cure by polymerization. The grinding member may contain at least one layer of a cloth of artificial fibres, e.g. glass or synthetic fibres, perpendicular to the axis of rotation.
