1389568 Retreading tyres TRELLEBORGS GUMMIFABRIKS AB 9 March 1972 [12 March 1971 24 Feb 1972] 11155/72 Heading B7C [Also in Division B5] In the retreading of motor vehicle tyres a vulcanized elastomeric element forming the tread of the retreaded tyre is bonded to the tyre by embedding in or adhering to the elastomeric element a layer of fabric, fibre or film, stripping this layer from the elastomeric element and thereby removing elastomeric material with the layer to expose a fresh surface on the elastomeric element and bonding the freshly exposed surface to the tyre by means of an adhesive. The elastomeric element may be of natural rubber, natural rubber/styrene butadiene rubber, urethane rubber or butyl rubber. The strippable layer may be loosely woven cotton fabric of canvas type, woven fabric of slightly twisted or untwisted multifilament yarn of nylon or other synthetic material or polyvinyl chloride film, and may have a fold stabilized with a weak seam provided therein to facilitate stripping.
