The alloy has the compn. =0.26% C, 0.3% Si, 1.5% Mn, 0.045% P, 0.03% S, 19-21% Cr, 19-21% Ni, 3.5-4.5% W, 3.5-4.5% Mo, 3.5-4.5% Nb and/or Ta, =5% Fe, 0.003-0.01% B balance Co. A ductile Laves structure is obtained by applying a solution treatment at 1150-1200 degrees C, quenching in water, and aging at 700-850 degrees C followed by cooling in air. Alloy is suitable for gas turbine blades, fire tubes, burners and combustion chambers in motors and engines.
