The electromagnetically operated switching unit consists of movable spring loaded switching elements which are coupled to the armature of the magnet. The switching elements move in the same sense as the armature. There is also a fixed support for the fixed switching elements. The travel of each switch contact is limited and there is a flexible damping unit (20, 22, 23, 26) fitted in each case between the fixed contact carrier (12) and its supporting parts (12). The connection of the fixed contact carrier is via a bolt (20) passing through the body (14) of the support element.
