The compounds of the general formula II shown above are stated to be novel and are prepared by alkoxylation or phenoxylation of 2-chloro-1,5-(or 1,8-)dinitroanthraquinones. The dyes are used as disperse dyes on polyester, polyamide and cellulose ester fibres.
