摘要
Vacuum-refining nickel alloys - providing improved rupture ductility at intermediate temps. Non-reactive metals including Ni are charged together with carbon to a furnace and heated to 2550-2750 degrees F under vacuum; the temp. is then raised to 2800 - 3000 degrees F until carbon deoxidation is complete, after which the melt is cooled and at least one reactive metal added before the alloy is teemed. Pref. the melt is cooled to 2600 - 2700 degrees F before the addition of reactive metal. The base charge may include at least one of Co, Fr, Ta, Mo, W, Nb, or V, while the reactive metal may be Al, Zr, B, Ti, or Hf, carbon may be added as graphite.
