1396426 Laminates F HAARBURGER 18 July 1972 [3 Aug 1971] 33435/72 Heading B5N [Also in Division E1] A lightweight building element comprises a sealed envelope 10 of a high tensile dimensionally stable flexible material 11, 12 comprising a textile web of synthetic plastics yarn coated on both sides with elastomer and/or plastomer and/or duromer plastics and a filling 14 of synthetic foam. In the embodiment shown, the element has a rectangular shape 15 made of metal or wood or synthetic plastics material, the frame having a U-shaped cross-section and being provided with clamps 16 between which the outer envelope 10 is clamped and held in the frame 15 along the edges 13. The element may be made by welding the sheets 11, 13 along their edges and pumping foam-forming components into the resultant envelope. In a preferred embodiment, the material of the envelope may incorporate steel wires. The elements can be combined to build as illustrated in Fig. 2 (not shown), inner and outer walls of light construction, the elements being joined by light replaceable joining elements.
