Flame proofing copolyacrylonitrile fibres - by incorporating a chlorinated/brominated acrylonitrile-diene copolymer

The flame proofing agent (1) is a chlorinated/brominated copolymer of acrylonitrile with 0.5-15 wt.% conj. diene, esp. butadiene or isoprene. (1) has good compatibility with copolyacrylonitrile (2) and fibres flame-proofed with (1) and contg. =85 wt.% copolyacrylonitrile have high whiteness. The bromine content of the fibres is 2-5 wt.% and the chlorine content 10 wt.%.
