1360143 Bearings GLYCO-METALL-WERKE DAELEN & LOOS GmbH 4 Sept 1972 [24 Sept 1971] 40902/72 Heading F2A A journal bearing assembly has a split sleeve 1 which is arranged to be removed from the bearing housing without disturbing the shaft 12, one of the portions of the sleeve having an elongate projection 4 on its external surface which slides in a guide groove 3 formed in the surface of the seating 15 and which extends from one point of separation between the seating sections to another. There may be one or more projections on the sleeve. The projections may be narrow C-shaped strips the ends of which are bent to fit into recesses in the sleeve, or may be narrow keys located in recesses in the sleeve or may be a circumferential rib on the sleeve. Alternatively the projection may be on the bearing seating and the groove formed in the sleeve. The other portion of the sleeve is so formed as to retain the sleeve in position.
