Abrasive textile cloth - with loop or nap finish where nap fibres/loops coated with a polymer dispersion used for massage

The towelling or velour base, pref. of cellulose or cellulose-synthetic fibre-mixt. is trated mechanically to bond the loops/nap against the pile before a fluid thermoplastic (co)polymer foam is applied so that it penetrates the loop/nap layer and the base weave. The cloth is dried at a temp. at which the foam breaks up to form a porous coating on the loops/nap fibres and fixed at 120-160 degrees C. Pref. polymer dispersion for the foam is an aq. dispersion of (co)polymers of acrylic acid/ester/esteramides, butadiene-styrene/acrylonitrile or acrylate-vinylchloride. The cloth is used in face cloths or bath towels where one side can act as a massaging towel and the other be used fro drying. When a hard finish is used the cloth can be used as shoe insoles or as scouring pads, etc.
