Pre-sedimentation tank - for sewage treatment plant with mechanical baffle assembly

Presedimentation tank for sewage treatment plant has a mechanical baffle assembly (2) in the upper part of the tank (1) into which the main feed pipe (3) for the sewage runs, the sewage impinging on a curved baffle plate (5) immersed in the liquid to form a semicylindrical stack pipe (10) running down to the sloping floor of the assembly. This assembly has an asymmetrical, flat funnel shaped body with one half of the sloping floor leading from the inlet (3) down to a slotted outlet (9) into the main tank and has relatively large side openings (7) whose lower edge is below normal water level, at the minimum water line. The run off pipe (4) is connected to the space defined by the stack pipe (5). Tank has semi automatic action and is esp. suitable for small plants.
