Thickening photographic processing solns - with guar gum and/or carragheen

The viscosity of photographic solns. is increased by adding a thickening agent, pref. guar gum or carragheen or mixtures. The solns. may also contain a surfactant pref. ethanol, IPA, or dioctyl sodium sulphosuccinate. The solns. are prepd. by adding the photographic cpdS. to an aq. soln. of the thickening agent or, alternatively, the agent may first be dissolved in the surfactant. Pref. quantities are 0.2-0.5% thickening agent and 0-0.5% surfactant. Lower pumping speeds may be used in photo typographic equipment.
