Textiles are dyed and printed with dyes of formula: (where R1 and R2 are opt. substd. lower alkyl or together with benzene ring (a) form a heterocyclic gp.; R3 is H or opt. substd. lower alkyl; X- is an anion; benzene rings (a) to (d) opt. carry other substits. or condensed rings). dyeing is from neutral or (pref.) acid bath, and gives good fastness to moisture and light. Textiles are e.g. acrylonitrile (co)polymers and acid modified polyester or polyamide.
