Stretching device - for removing deformations in a textile web being advanced to a processing machine

Stretching device includes a delivery roller having pref. 3 separately driven roller elements which advances the wet to edge folding devices (e.g. rotating brushes) which fold the edges of the web into small pleats and applies them to a needled conveyor, and a feed roller downstream of the delivery roller and likewise having pref. 3 separately driven roller elements. The rotational speed of the roller elements of the feed and delivery rollers are controlled pref. via speed change devices driven by a common motor, to prevent deformations forming in the web, and the corresponding outer roller elements of the feed and delivery rollers are interconnected with the associated folding devices to maintain the relative rotational speeds.
